The Anderson Area Touchdown Club has announced the cancellation of the Feb. 11 meeting to honor the high school players of the year. Georgia Tech Coach Paul Johnson was to be the guest speaker. The meeting was to be held at the Anderson University Athletic Campus (the Anderson Fairgrounds).
The club cited the slumping economy as a reason it didn't raise the necessary funds to meet its budget for the annual banquet. All funds received from the sale of tickets and advertising will be refunded.
An awards banquet will be held at a later date to honor the recipients.
