IVA Playoff implications were on the line Friday night as the Pendleton Bulldogs went on the road to take on the Crescent Tigers, and Pendleton came away with a 14-6 victory.
With the win comes a first round home playoff game for Pendleton for the seventh consecutive year.
Pendleton got on the board first following a 31-yard touchdown run by Reggie Earle to give the Bulldogs a 7-0 lead with 8:32 to go in the first quarter.
Crescent was driving the ball down the field late in the second quarter. After picking up a first down following an offside penalty on Pendleton on fourth down Crescent quarterback Jared Burdette was intercepted on the next play with 53 seconds to go into halftime, giving Pendleton a 7-0 halftime lead.
Crescent’s starting quarterback Jared Burdette was injured with 6:49 to go in third following a punt return and didn’t return to the game.
Crescent got on the scoreboard in the third quarter following a 39-yard run by Jesse Turman but Crescent trailed 7-6 following a missed 2-point conversion.
Pendleton scored for the final time when Reggie Earle broke loose on a 50-yard touchdown run to give Pendleton a 14-6 lead.
Crescent drove down the field attempting to score late in the fourth quarter but the rally ended when Pendleton’s Andrew Barnett intercepted a fourth down pass at the 3 with 2:51 to go in the game.
