ANDERSON An Anderson mother and daughter plus another Anderson woman were arrested for shoplifting after Belk's officials caught them concealing about $465 in undergarments, police report.
Sherry Kurz, 41, her 18-year-old daughter, Brittany Spiker, of Cortland Lane and Sherry Mitchell, 48, of Glenna Drive were arrested about 5:45 p.m. Monday at Anderson Mall, according to the incident report.
Tuesday, Anderson Municipal Court Judge Hugh Welborn allowed Spiker to apply for entry into pre-trial intervention.
Kurz and Mitchell were ordered to each pay a fine of $1,092.50 or spend 30 days in jail after pleading guilty.
All three women were put on lifetime trespass notice from the mall.
Kurz told Welborn that the women went to the mall without any criminal intent.
“It was something that never should have happened,” she said.
“We just decided to take a walk in the mall.”
